Printed Circuits Upgrades Photo Department

Flex and rigid flex circuit board manufacturer, Printed Circuits has added two new pieces of equipment to
their photo department including a new Orbotech Paragon 8-watt laser direct imager and a Fusion 22
automatic optical inspection machine with laser via inspection capabilities.

“We purchased a 16-watt laser direct imager a few years back and needed to add capacity, particularly for
inner and outer layer photoimaging,” said Matt Tannehill, executive vice president. “The new LDI uses LSO,
or large scan optics, for very high throughput with excellent quality at the same time, which is critical for
our customers’ success. The new machine also has a very wide depth of field, which is ideal for
manufacturing flex and rigid flex circuits as they can often have a great deal of topography on the outer
layer surfaces. We are extremely pleased to have this new capability.”

“The Fusion 22 AOI machine is a natural complement to the laser direct imager. It is designed for laser via
inspection and HDI applications that have become increasingly popular. With a very high throughput and
low false defect rate, the Fusion greatly enhances our productivity in that department,” Matt continued.
“We are pleased to continue to augment our capabilities to meet our customers’ expectations today and in
the future.”

Printed Circuits is certified to ISO 9001:2015

Flex and rigid flex circuit board manufacturer, Printed Circuits has
received accreditation to the new ISO standard, 2001:2015.

“We are very excited to announce that we were just certified to the
new ISO standard 9001:2015,” said Ken Tannehill, president and
CEO. “Starting in 2000 with our original accreditation to ISO 9000
and the military performance specification MIL-PRF-31032 we
have made a commitment to keep our quality systems current and
relevant to our customers’ needs. We are glad to continue in that
effort and have plans to pursue additional qualifications in the
future” said Ken.

“The 9001:2015 qualification takes a much more holistic review of a facility’s organization, pursuits and
satisfaction of key stakeholders,” said Matt Tannehill, executive vice president. “At the same time, it is
much harder and more thorough than our previous ISO accreditation,” Matt continued. “It is good for our
customers to see our continued effort at developing both our quality system and overall management
system to meet their needs now and in the future.”

Printed Circuits Hires Paul Peters and Adds Electroplated Platinum Final Finish

Printed Circuits Adds Engineering Manager Paul Peters and New Plating Capability in 2018

Flex and rigid flex circuit board manufacturer, Printed Circuits has started 2018 with a few enhancements
to their wet processing department, starting with the appointment of Paul Peters to engineering manager
of their plating and wet processing departments.

“Paul Peters brings a wealth of wet processing talent and experience to Printed Circuits. We are delighted
to have his skill set added to our engineering talent,” said Ken Tannehill, president and CEO. Paul has 39
years experience in wet processing in the PWB manufacturing industry and has worked with industry
leaders MacDermid, OMG, and Electrochemicals, as well as Printed Circuits in previous positions.

“The timing of Paul’s hire was ideal as we have just added electroplated platinum to our final finish
capabilities,” said Matt Tannehill, executive vice president. “Electroplated platinum is desirable as a final
finish when folks are looking to use flexible circuits in implantable devices for medical applications,” Matt
continued. “It is ideal when electrodes or circuits will come into contact with human tissue or fluids, which
is typical in implantable medical electronics applications that are growing in popularity.”
